Does Depression Cause Divorce?

The break up of a marriage happens for many different reasons with chronic depression being one of the leading causes of divorce around the world. A depressed person will be very moody and down in the dumps and hard to be around and relate to. Depression often goes undiagnosed and the depressed person's behavior is often more than a spouse can bear. Can depression cause divorce? You bet it can!

Depression is ugly and puts tremendous strains on a marriage, especially if you are not sure the condition exists or even how severe it is. Depressed moods and symptoms can have a way of hiding at times and then being full blown the next instant, especially at the initial stages.

Often the depressed spouse pulls back from the relationship, not wanting to do the same things that were always done as a couple. Their belief that nothing will be fun is so strong that they even start missing family events. Sometimes the simplest life tasks go for days without being completed. Even personal hygiene can become an issue as the depressed person pulls away from the world and spends most of their time in a dark room alone.

Many times it's the depressed person pushing all the right buttons to set a divorce in motion because they have no self worth and feel they are very undeserving. They may be the first one to bring up the subject of divorce. Living with depression is a very scary place to be. The depressed person may think that everything is a waste of time and this may start to create problems for the non-depressed spouse.

Life is still the same for the non-depressed spouse and frequently they do not understand what could be causing the changes. Communication at this point is at an all time low, with niceties being a thing of the past. This may be when the first thoughts of divorce are being contemplated and considered a solution.

If this is you and you are living with a depressed person you need to do a few things to save your marriage. Even more important is saving both of you a lot of unnecessary grief. Understand depression by doing some research. There is a massive amount of information all around you, both on the internet and speaking with your doctor. Living with a depressed person is very difficult, but with the right information and medication depression can be treated.

Does depression cause divorce? The answer: Only if you let it. If depression has struck the one you love, there are many things that you can do - but first and foremost understand that depression is a disease, a disease that can be treated. But many times, these marriages do end in divorce because they become too unbearable.

You Too, Can Get More Energy Naturally

Do you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock a few times before finally pulling your body out of bed. Do you immediately start the coffee and keep drinking it for hours. Then by mid afternoon, do you want a nap. So many people today are low on energy or physically and mentally exhausted and there are ways that you can get more energy naturally. Low energy comes with living in the twenty first century.

We are all at times looking for a boost in our energy levels, if not daily. But how do you go about getting more physical and mental energy? Is there a way to get more energy naturally? Do you have a need for alternative energy enhancers or are you going to simply do nothing and stay tired..

Well lets look at physical energy which is is direct control of your mental energy. Today's diets, the build up of environmental pollution and the use of prescription medications, alcohol and recreational drugs throw up road blocks in the body's ability to remain energized.

For your energy to be at it's best you need to have all the following in your daily life. You must eat properly and do not eat any processed foods. Processed foods can deplete your energy levels and leave you feeling tired and lethargic. You need to eat a balanced diet containing fruits and vegetables. The plants that have the deepest green color will deliver the most nutrients to get more energy naturally.

You also want to get a good quality sleep each and every night. Try to get at least eight hours of sleep every night. This is the amount you need to start each day feeling fresh and alert. You need to rethink your sleep habits.

Most of us stay up late to cram as much into a day as possible day. A lot of people tend to see sleep as a waste of time and a luxury. If sleep has a low ranking on your priority lists then give it the promotion it deserves.

You also want to use energy. By using energy with lots of movement and exercise your energy levels will then increase. If you do nothing in a day you will have less energy than if you do a lot in a day. You have heard the old saying it takes money to make money, the same applies to body energy.

If you make the above changes in your life you will benefit and the results will be an increase in energy. But many of us simply won't change or can't because of your lifestyle simply can't.

You can still get more energy naturally but taking the right natural supplements to feed your bodies cells the proper nutrition and enhance the hours of sleep you do get, clear some of the brain fog and have enough energy to get you through from morning to nigh

Faye is an home based business entrepreneur who has said no to accelerated aging and yes to get more energy naturally

Global Desertification

Imagine a world of deserts...

General Information about Desertification

Desertification is the breaking down of land by erosion. It most often occurs in dry areas, where human activity or climate change (or both) has greatly impacted an area. The freshwater supply and the soil can be easily destroyed, and if the land is degraded, the drylands will be unable to renew the water and soil resources and become a desert. Because of the loss of plants and trees by human activity, erosion also destroys most of the topsoil of the dryland, disabling any vegetation, leading to famine and loss of biodiversity in the area.

What Causes Desertification?

The main causes of desertification are overgrazing of livestock, overcultivating crops, deforestation, the increasing amount of fires per year, overusing groundwater, increasing amount of salt in the soil, and climate change. Overgrazing and fires causes destruction of plants in the drylands, destroying the biodiversity of the dryland. Overcultivating and an increase of salinity can lead to the destruction of the topsoil which is important for growing crops. In vegetated areas, the land is often cooler than the rest of the dryland and prevents the dryland winds to erode the topsoil. Climate change and droughts can cause a decrease in freshwater amount, which will prevent plants to grow.

All these processes involve the overpopulation of the drylands. Where there are more humans, there will be destruction of the drylands.

What is Being Done to Stop Desertification?

To stop desertification, we must look at what causes desertification. There is no other way to remove the effect of overgrazing or overcultivating the land except by not using the land. This is not a smart way to stop desertification, as humans need the food and other resources that come from the drylands. However, to stop the erosion, there have been some tree belts, strings of trees that block wind from blowing away the topsoil in the drylands. In north-eastern China, there will be "Green Wall of China" that will be grown. It is a wall of trees that is almost as long as the Great Wall of China. For the loss of freshwater, humans should use the idea of sustainable resources so that water can be saved. Also, in some areas, leguminous plants have been used to extract the nitrogen from the atmosphere into the soil to restore the fertility of the soil. Also, to combat deforestation, people have been using the heat as an advantage with solar cooking instead of using wood for fuel.

How Has Desertification Affected Us?

Desertification is like a monster, eating up the land that it passes through. It's worse than a hurricane, an earthquake, or a fire. Once it somewhere, it's really hard to get that place back, because it makes plants hard to grow there by destroying the soil and things can't live there because there is no water. Desertification is like the disease of the lands. In China, desertification is spreading very fast. China's increasingly high population rate is causing much of its land to die. The deserts and storms will cause $50 billion to China's economy. (Bill Gates only has $60 billion -just a random thought) The dust storms caused by the desertification will destroy much of the country's agriculture. Is this not bad enough? Also, in the US in the 1930s, there was the Dust Bowl in the Great Plains, causing many people to abandon their homes. The people caused the Dust Bowl by not farming correctly and there was also a drought at that time. In the Sahelian kingdoms in Africa, desertification and drought caused a death of over 100,000 people. Everyday, people die because of poverty and hunger, but have you thought about what causes all this? It's the bad quality of the land and the lack of water that causes these deaths. If desertification was stopped, there would be no poverty.

Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft

1st - *trade back with IND, add a 2nd round pick. Select: OLB
Bobby Carpenter 6'3 255 4.66 Ohio State

Bobby is a great all-around LB. He can play the run, the pass, and he can get after the QB. He is ready to play right away since he played linebacker in college.

NFL COMPARISON: Mike Vrabel

2nd - A: trade up to #40 (DET), swap our 3rd rounder for their 4th. Select: OG Davin Joseph 6'3 312 5.07 Oklahoma

Joseph is a very physical and athletic guard with experience at tackle as well. He could come in and start immediately if necessary.

B: FS Daniel Bullocks 6'1 212 4.38 Nebraska

Daniel is a good all-round safety who made play after play at the Senior Bowl. Good complement to Roy. Really made and impression at the combine by running a 4.38 40 at the combine. I pray that either him or Ko Simpson make it to this pick. If they don't, we should trade back into the 3rd, and pick up an extra late round pick and then select the best available safety. Anthony Smith, Roman Harper, and Pat Watkins would be the best options.

NFL COMPARISON: Corey Chavous

4th - WR Todd Watkins 6'2 202 4.41 BYU

Todd is a speedy guy who can really stretch the field. A possible complement to Crayton in the post-Glenn/TO era. Needs to work on his routes and he needs to put on some weight although he has done a good job of this in the last year.

NFL COMPARISON: Ashley Lelie

5th - NT Steve Fifita 5'11 315 5.25 Utah

Fifita is a great run clogging nose tackle prospect. He has everything you look for except great height. May not be starting material, but he would be a good backup to Ferguson.

6th - FB JD Runnels 5'11 238 4.65 Oklahoma

Runnels is a punishing run blocker who brings everything you want in a lead fullback except size. I believe he can overcome this and become a good starting fullback right away. He is a decent athlete who is a good receiver out of the backfield as well.

7th - P Steve Weatherford 6'3 215 4.76 Ilinois

Steve is a great punter who has averaged about 44 yards a punt throughout his career. Has a good leg strength. Kicked off and was very effective at it. Was the school's long distance field goal specialist. Made a 55-yard attempt. Good athlete. Needs to work on consistency and getting rid of the ball quicker.

2007 NCAA Big East Football Preview by Vernon Croy

Ladies and Gentlemen it is that time again to look into the upcoming Big East NCAA football season that is only 65 days away as of June.27.

2006 Big East Final Standings

Team Conf. W-L Overall W-L

Louisville 6-1 12-1

Rutgers 5-2 11-2 West Virginia 5-2 11-2 South Florida 4-3 9-4 Cincinnati 4-3 8-5 Pittsburgh 2-5 6-6 Connecticut 1-6 4-8 Syracuse 1-6 4-8

Louisville Cardinals 2007 Preview:

Louisville finished in the top spot in the Big East in 2006 and now they have a new head coach Steve Kragthorpe who is very lucky to take over a football program that will still be one of the best programs in the Big East. Brian Brohm returns as QB for Louisville in his senior year and he is definitely going to be in the Heisman race this season since he is definitely one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Brohm still has his main targets at Douglas and Urrita at WR and he will be right at home with Kragthorpe's spread offense. Louisville does lose their star running back Michael Bush so they will go with a running back by committee approach this season and they also have a new Offensive line on the right side of the ball. The Cardinals weakness this season will be on defense as they have some huge holes to fill after losing CB William Gay and DT Amobi Okoye. Overall Louisville will be at the top of the standings once again this season in the Big East and they will almost definitely have another BCS birth.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights 2007 Preview:

I must say Rutgers was one of my favorite teams in the Big East last season but this season they will be very lucky to finish in the top 4 in the Big East after they lost some key players on both sides of the ball. Some key losses for Rutgers include their emotional leader and Captain FB Brian Leonard, All Big East TE Clark Harris and on Defense CB Derrick Roberson. Rutgers does return their starting QB Teal who will be very well protected by one of the best Offensive lines in College Football. Ray Rice is back at RB and he will once again have a huge year behind a great O-line. Rutgers also has a lot of speed at the WR position. Look for Rutgers weakness this season to be on defense after too many losses coming into this season but you better believe coach Schiano will have his team prepared physically and mentally.

West Virginia Mountaineers 2007 Preview:

I feel that West Virginia will be the team to beat in the Big East this season. The Mountaineers are happy to have their coach Rodriquez back after speculation that the Crimson Tide swallowed him up. West Virginia's Offense will be explosive and fun to watch once again this season with QB White and RB Slaton back at the helm of the offense even after losing their star WR. The Mountaineers had huge problems on Defense last year and you better believe that has been addressed and looked after by coach Rodriquez. Look for the Mountaineers to be a power house on both sides of the ball in the upcoming season and a BCS berth will come their way.

South Florida Bulls 2007 Preview:

The Bulls return 8 starters on Offense, 7 on Defense and they will make a run at the top 3 spots in the Big East this season under coach Leavitt. The Bulls have a lot of experience on defense and that will be their strength this season and they should have success running the ball on offense this season with Ford. QB Matt Grothe had some off field issues but that should not affect him mentally and I'am 100% sold that he will have the same success as he did last season. Some key losses for the Bulls are WR's Green and Randolph along with LB Nicholas but the Bulls will be just fine on both sides of the ball and facing WV at home in week 5 will be a test to see where this program is at this season.

Cincinnati Bearcats 2007 Preview:

I was able to see the Bearcats first hand in the International Bowl last season in a game where they should of put away Central Michigan but were unable to thanks to a defensive meltdown. In 2007 their new coach Kelly will make the game plan a bit more exciting utilizing the spread offense but without the talent this Bearcats team will be in for a long season. The Bearcats QB Grutza has experience but he is definitely not a star by any means and it will be the defense that will have to win games for them this season. The Bearcats lost a couple of key players C Reinstatler, K Lovell and mainly TE Celek who will be hard to replace. Look for the Bearcats to finish in the bottom of the Big East in what will be a transition year for them and the new coach.

Pittsburgh Panthers 2007 Preview:

Pittsburgh was an underachieving team last season in my opinion and this season they will be on the rise from the bottom of the Big East. Thanks to coach Wannstedt the recruiting class has been very successful and this will be a very talented Panthers team in 2007. This is going to be a very young team in 2007 but if they can grow and learn fast they will definitely have a winning season this year. The QB situation has not yet been addressed to fill the shoes of Palko and they did also lose LB Blades and CB Revis so they still have some questions to be answered coming into this season but from what I hear the answers will be there by the Panthers first game. Wannstedt is known for his defensive expertise and they will be fairly sound on defense this season. Look for Pitt to finish in the top 4 of the Big East this season if the young talent can learn fast.

Connecticut Huskies 2007 Preview:

The Huskies finished the 2006 season second from the bottom and they have been on a downward spiral the last few seasons. For 2007 the Huskies still have too many issues that need to be met to pull out of the Cellar in the Big East. The Huskies run defense was absolutely Brutal and could not possibly be worse this season allowing 180 rpg. The Huskies lost too much experience on defense and this will be a learning year for this team with all the new talent. The Huskies do start off the season against some teams that they should be able to beat so this should help the new guys gel as a team and get some experience before they play Pitt. Look for the Huskies to get 3 to 5 wins this season and remain in the bottom of the Big East.

Syracuse Orangemen 2007 Preview:

Syracuse could not possibly be as bad as they were last season, can they? No it would be almost impossible to be as bad as they were last season and now they have a new QB Robinson who looked great in spring training to man the Offense. Robinson has all the size and skills to turn this offense around in 2007 and he has an adequate receiving core to work with. The Orangemens main problem will be running the ball on Offense and without this form of attack it will not open up the receivers for Robinson. The Syracuse defense lost a lot of players but that can not possibly be a bad thing since the defense simply was not good. I have a lot of faith in this QB for Syracuse and I look for them to pull out of the basement of the Big East this season with possibly 5 to 6 wins.

Six Sigma For Network Marketing

What do you do if you are working your business and for some unknown reason not achieving the results you think you should be, or know you can? The problem for many is we don't have any real problem solving skills to help us establish a practical system for operating our business. Or if we have a system in place, we don't know how to identify where in our system something may be off track and need adjusting.

Corporate businesses do a pretty decent job in my opinion of taking their best and brightest and sending them out to formulate problem solving methodologies, that can be taught pretty easily, (duplication) and then implemented to help solve a wide array of problems from cutting unnecessary costs to improving and streamlining processes, to increase profitability.

Unfortunately, they do a pretty bad job (generally speaking) of sticking with one tool or program long enough to reap the benefits. Companies like people, have short attention spans and are eager to move on to the newest and shiniest fad on the market.

I have been trained in Six Sigma for 8 years now and find that the model is very helpful and can be used in almost any application you can think of. The reason for this is because every conceivable action in your life or work is in the basic sense a process. Anything you do, has process steps involved to achieve the desired outcome. For example, making a pot of coffee- you put a filter in the holder, add a specific amount of coffee, fill the water reservoir, and mash the on button. That is a process.

Six Sigma was designed to look at a process and improve it. There are different Six Sigma models of course. I would like to share with you the D.M.A.I.C. model to help you in your Network Marketing Business. The letters in this model represent the different steps in this problem solving tool.

Let's say for example, you have been working your business for 1 month now and have only recruited 1 person. You expected to have 3 people in your down line by now.

Phase 1. D=Define. Define your problem statement. In this example, it would look something like this:

In 1 month, I have only recruited 1 person.

Now we must establish a future goal for improvement. Make it realistic. and quantify it.

In March, I will recruit 2 people into my organization.

Phase 2. M=Measure.

Now we must measure as much as possible our previous results up till now. We want as much information as we can get. It would be very helpful if we kept some type of records as to how many people we offered our opportunity to in 1 month that only resulted in 1 new recruit. If not, I recommend you start this practice from now on. This will help you establish a ratio or percent that you can use as a benchmark for future improvement goals. Let's say for example you spoke to 10 people in 1 month and only got one. That means you only have a 10% success rate for this time period.

Phase 3. A=Analyze. This is the hardest part. Especially if you don't have some accurate data or stats to go back and look at. Going forward in your business, it would be helpful if you kept some type of log for you to track your daily business activity and the results of those activities.

For example, if you know that you have been devoting approximately 65% of your time focused on recruiting friends and family, 25% of your time placing ads online, and 10% of your time marketing on FB or another Social Network vehicle, now you can quickly identify where your efforts have been directed.

Although it's a little difficult in this simple example to make all the points that are worth mentioning on this subject, the next step would be to identify what outlet you found your 1 prospect through. If it was on FB, you might want to increase more of your time and efforts toward FB marketing. To find out where to cut some of your time and efforts, you want to probably cut from the vehicle which is sparking the least amount of activity. If you were able to speak to 4 potential prospects through Craig's List advertising, but were unable to recruit them, you probably want to either increase your efforts in this area or keep it the same for your first try at this. If you couldn't convince any friends and family to take a look at your opportunity, this is the obvious place to cut your efforts.

Phase 4. I=Improve The improve phase is the organization of the changes you intend to make to improve your outcome. Example would be- Friends and family recruiting- 25%, online advertising- 40%, and Social Networking Marketing- 35%. Based on your business time/effort analyses, this might not be a bad start to making your adjustments. Try this new model of activity for a specified period of time. (1-2 weeks should be sufficient) If things start to improve slightly, you may want to go back and adjust this model again to support your new results. If it gives you your desired outcome. Then you are on to the control phase.

Phase 5 C= Control When you find the appropriate breakdown of your maximum effort efficiency, it is important that you continue to work your business in this model. It is just important to maintain good records and frequently make sure that you aren't subtly regressing in your desired results. If you decide to try to improve your results, start the process over and monitor and control.

Although this is a very shallow simplistic look at Six Sigma, it is a nice structure to help you keep your business activities and the results you are getting documented and easy to see. It will also help you to develop some good disciplines to help you build your business and reach your goals quicker.
