PAVE Software and Why it Helps Your Business Presort Mail Properly

Your business needs PAVE Software solutions because it is a powerful tool to maximize your company's profitability and maintain accuracy with your data and customer profiles. The PAVE software program has been developed in collaboration with the mailing industry to assess pre-sort software while determining the accuracy of the sorting address files according to the DMM standard. This software (PAVE) is available only to the software and hardware developers. Companies that design pre-sort software or develop pre-sorting equipment for re-sale or internal use usually avail of the PAVE software.

This program is a process which evaluates and verifies the pre-sort products manufactured by developers, however, the software does not guarantee acceptance of mail prepared by PAVE certified hardware and/or software personnel. Incidentally it, however does provide national approval of computer generated facsimiles of USPS postage statements, standardization of documentation and other pre-sort documentation.

The USPS defines a PAVE certified software product as a pre-sorting product with source codes specifically written to operate on a particular platform or operating system while being assigned a specific version number. Many products use different language compilers to process files within different operating systems or on different hardware platforms. In order to maintain the highest standards of quality assurance, PAVE certifies each product that operates on a particular platform with the correct version number.

One platform is tested on the basis of test files ordered while additional platforms would be tested randomly. PAVE software evaluates each platform of the pre-sort product separately and would issue a certificate for each platform that meets the PAVE accuracy standards. This mailer's postal automation software prepares the client's mailing list to meet USPS requirements for maximum discounts in mailing. Such PAVE certified software verifies and standardizes addresses for maintaining address accuracy.

This system eliminates duplicate records, postal re-sorts to the lowest rate possible and prints bar coded labels, tags and required postal forms. PAVE certified by the USPS guarantees highest level of address accuracy for correct delivery and assures direct mail savings. The top functioning highest quality mail management software program, PAVE, performs all the necessary tasks for complete mail preparation to maximize the client's profits while ensuring time saving.

This most sought after and stable software consistently complies with all US postal service links, accurately corrects and validates addresses for improved mail delivery. It also identifies and removes costly duplicates in client's data base while providing superb technical support even offering money back guarantees in case of non performance.

This software is an extremely handy tool for efficient management of data dependent business based primarily on consumer data bank. In the business world, incorrect data can be damaging to any company. If the addresses are inconsistent or inaccurate, the company suffers the cost of resending mails, losing customers and eroding its reputation in the competitive market. Direct mailing is a big business as certain products are more appealing to certain customers. A mailing list created by using this sophisticated software helps in a big way in targeting the right customers while validating records and its contents.

RSS... And The 10 MOST Powerful Reasons WHY You Should Be Using It

RSS(Real Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) is widely becoming a VERY powerful marketing tool on the NET and for Internet marketers around the world, the question is...

... "Are you using RSS to syndicate your content?"

When I first stumbled across RSS syndication while surfing the net, it piqued my curiosity to the point where I couldn't help myself, but, to look into this new form of site promotion further.

What I found out about this new technology will absolutely change the way you keep in touch with your subscribers and/or readers, in many ways, for years to come.

Just to keep up with the times I recently built a webpage for my website specifically to promote my RSS feed in order to take on new subscribers, and... most important of all, to put this new technology to the test.

Here's what my webpage looks like if you decide to build your own dedicated webpage for your RSS feed. I highly recommend you do, but, that's just me.

If you do decide to build one, make sure you give your subscribers and/or readers options.

http://www.internetwondersezine.com/rss_feed.html

Now, for those of you who aren't quite up to speed on what RSS is, here's a quick definition for you:

RSS is an acronym for "Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary", and the XML extension is the format used for distributing your news headlines via the Web, which is known as Syndication.

Syndication is where the TRUE power of RSS is unleashed, getting your message across the web in an Instant to your subscribers and/or readers.

That's the basics of RSS(Real Simple Syndication).

Now, for the rest of this article I want to focus on the "10 MOST Powerful Reasons WHY You Should Be Using It".

So, with that said, let's go to reason #1.

Reason #1. RSS Streamlines communication.

RSS streamlines communication between the publishers and readers making it easier for the subscriber to receive your content.

Reason #2. Readers can Opt-In to feeds.

RSS gives the subscriber the ability to Opt-In to the feeds they are interested in and the ability to Opt-Out if they wish through there RSS reader just like an auto-responder.

Reason #3. You don't have to maintain an RSS feed.

This is a great time saver for the busy marketer because RSS is a great communication supplement that doesn't burden the publisher with having to maintain a "List" or having to follow strict privacy rules.

Reason #4. You have the ability to Syndicate your content.

This is where the TRUE power of RSS comes into play because RSS gives you the ability to Syndicate your content to your subscribers and website owners in an INSTANT giving your content the exposure it deserves.

Reason #5. Broadcasts your Sales and Specials.

RSS gives you the ability to broadcast your Sales message and Specials to a wider audience in less time it would take to set-up an email broadcast.

Reason #6. No filters to worry about.

This is the next best feature to RSS feeds because you don't have to worry about your message being passed through some email filter.

By using RSS, your message gets delivered to 100% of your subscribers.

This is a very powerful feature.

Reason #7. No more "Spam" complaints.

This is yet another great benefit to RSS because you never have to worry about "Spam" complaints or "Privacy Policies" again because they have to add your feed to there reader, not the other way around with email.

Reason #8. You get INSTANT credibility.

By publishing your own RSS feed your establishing yourself as an expert in the eyes of your readers as someone who knows his/her industry which will build "Trust".

Reason #9. Multiple ways to read your feed.

RSS is very versatile because it allows you to view the feed in many different media platforms.

Some examples are, Browser Based readers, Software Based readers, and the ability to view feeds on different operating systems like windows and mac.

Reason #10. Free and Easy site promotion.

I like to save the best for last because RSS is a great way to get free traffic to your website without the need of spending money on advertising.

This benefit alone will save you hundreds, if not, thousands in advertising expenses a year in costs to advertise your online business.

Well... are those enough reasons for you to get started with RSS?

I certainly hope so because they sure get me excited everytime I read through them.

Just imagine for a minute your same message you worked so hard on that you were going to send via email getting to 100% of your subscribers INSTANTLY -- On-Demand -- via your own RSS feed without ever having to worry about email filters.

Your response rates would Double, if not, Triple, meaning MORE $$Profits$$ in your pocket with less work.

Internet technology at its Best.

As I mentioned early in my article, the best way to take advantage of RSS... Starting TODAY! ... is to set-up your own dedicated RSS webpage on your website.

If you don't have time to set-up your own webpage I recommend you set-up an account with Blogger.com -- http://www.blogger.com -- and then head over to FeedBurner.com -- http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/home -- and set-up an account there.

FeedBurner.com will auto-generate you a RSS subscription page with whatever RSS feed URL you choose.

Well... there you have it, "RSS... And The 10 MOST Powerful Reasons WHY You Should Be Using It" and more.

In conclusion, publishers using RSS as a communication vehicle for their business are able to create keyword-rich, themed content, establishing Trust, Credibility, and ongoing communication with current and prospective subscribers and/or customers without the worry of email filters getting in the way and GUARANTEE's 100% delivery.

Debate And All The Great Things That I Gained From It

Debate will change your life, if you like it or not. There is no way out of this, mainly because a lot of people just get addicted to it after they try it. And once you are in, you can't get out. And you do not really want to be called a quitter, do you?

So here are a couple of things that I have seen, that have changed in my life.

1. Yeah right, I don't buy it

This is the most common answer, that I now give to people. Ok, maybe I'm not that annoying, but I really think more about what people tell me. If you are a politician or just my friend, I will challenge you on what you say. Sometimes just for fun, just to see the argument, or to see if you have an argument behind your claims, and sometimes because I really do not agree with you.

2. My first point is, my second point is...

Well I use structure. Even if I do not always use it in my debate, I use it more and more when I speak freely with my friends. It helps me to get my information to them and it helps me to get back to what I spoke in the past, because they tend to try to change what I said. Or they just hear it differently.

3. I'm more annoyed by things that people say

When you start thinking about what people tell you, you see that there is a lot of BS, that they try to sell you. It sucks sometimes, because you would just like to go and have an easy day, but you just have to think about what people tell you. Yes, Ignorance would be a bliss sometimes, but if you are a debater, you just can't do that.

4. I know people all around the world

In all of the years, that I debate, I have probably met hundreds of people from all around the world, that I would never meet, if I would not debate. All the tournaments just push you to speak to people from different backgrounds, and this makes your social life much more fun. Yes, it can destroy the organization of the friends that you have on Facebook (if you are a debater, you MUST join) (and I don't try to brag about the number of friends that I have on FB), but it really is great, that you have a place to crash and a couple of interesting people that you can go for a coffee with in almost all countries that you visit.

There are probably even more things that I have just because of debate. This web page, a proportion of work that I do for money is connected to debate, most or all of the travel that I do an others.

More about debate and where to debate at the website below.

Essential Article Writing Information (And RSS Feeds)

Article writing is a great way to show your expertise and get the word out about your website. There are many things to consider in writing articles and important steps in getting them noticed.

The Article:
Let's start with the article itself. We know that it needs to be informative and relative. The topic most be well written and in good form. Your spelling and grammar should be checked and doubled checked, and your word count needs to be at least 300. Many article sites require more than that. Read submission requirements before adding your articles.

The wonderful part about article writing is that you are able to add your link to the bottom of each article which gives your website exposure (for free). Many have a resource box where you list a short bio of yourself and/or a pitch on your website.

With most article sites they include, RSS feeds which allows even great exposure for you.

What You Need To Know:
In a recent interview with Christopher Knight, the owner of Ezines.com, by Net Biz Review, he explained a few things. As an article writer you must keep these things in mind. This is an excerpt of that interview. I encourage you to read the full interview.

"...1-10 articles is not enough. Write, submit, and track the records from 50-100 articles before determining if this strategy is right for you."

"...the real spoils, in terms of massive gobs of qualified visitors and targeted traffic coming back to the author's website mainly went to the top 14% of our authors who submitted more than 11 articles or more."

So as we can see, power is in the numbers. Writing more articles increases your exposure and thus your traffic. There are other places to add these writings.

Bloggers:

For those writing articles in other places, such as bloggers, you will want to post your blogs and then burn your feeds. This is an RSS.

What is an RSS?

An RSS is a web feed format used to publish your blog (s). This feed allows your blog to be published once but be viewed by many different types of programs. It is referred to as Really Simple Syndication. To burn your own feed: feedburner.com/fb/a/home (this is of no charge).

For Your Website:

For your website there are feed icons. I recommend the icons through Mozilla Firefox Foundation. They are made them to be freely used. Read their guidelines before using them. Their service is for the community wanting to use the icon for their products and services.

Conclusion:

The more articles that you write and the more blogs that you post will benefit you and your website. Add your blogs to RSS as well as implementing the icon onto your website. The point is to draw attention in every manner possible. This will also raise your rankings in the search engines as well, and we all want that!

Numbers That Can Tell a Different Story

Here are some of my favorite lesser-known stats that can show why a player might seemingly be "slumping" and should inevitably be breaking out of it OR shows that a player who seems to find every hole is about to make an apparent about face and regress back to the pack:

Batting average on balls in play: The average major leaguer's BABIP (or BIPA) hovers around .300. If someone has compiled a significantly higher or lower BABIP (and doesn't have a track record of doing so), some regression to the mean can be expected. For example, Chipper Jones'(Braves) at an early point in the 2008 season had a .385 BABIP which was 65 points over his career average. Consequently, we saw that his flirting with .400 didn't last. Chipper did have a very nice year though, but many of those balls that had been finding holes starting getting caught and Chipper "seemed" to regress when in reality the law of averages was just working itself out.

Line drive percentage: Of the three types of batted ball types (fly balls, ground balls, line drives), line drives most often fall in for hits. Matt Kemp(Dodgers) led the majors well into the 2008 season in line drive percentage (32.3 percent); not coincidentally, he was hitting .315 at the time. At the other end of the spectrum, Jhonny Peralta(Indians) had only 9.1 percent of his hits were line drives and he was hitting .216. The moral of the story... Want a higher batting average?.. Then hit more line drives. Want to hit more Home Runs?.. Then hit more fly balls. Want to be turned into exclusively a pitcher or be called a "defensive specialist"(usually called that because the player can't hit)? Then hit more ground balls than anything else.

Isolated power: A .300 batting average is pretty and all, but it needs some extra-base hits to really help a team in runs and RBIs. Enter isolated power, which shows the difference between a player's slugging percentage and batting average. Mike Jacobs of the Florida Marlins and his somewhat pedestrian .271 batting average ranked 19th amongst first basemen, but he was a top-10 first baseman thanks in no small part to his .336 isolated power mark (third best in the majors behind Lance Berkman(Astros) and Chase Utley(Phillies). What does that mean exactly? It means that of all of Jacobs hits, a lot of them were going for extra bases(doubles & Home Runs). Think about this(as a coach)... Which would you rather have?... Your team lead your league in batting average OR your team lead your league in runs scored?? Last time I checked, runs win games.

Ground ball to fly ball ratio: Unless you're The Flash(or Ichiro), it's hard to hit a ground ball for a home run. Not surprisingly, pitchers who do well in GB/FB(more ground balls to fly balls ratio) tend to be successful -- Fausto Carmona(Indians), Brandon Webb(D-Backs) and Roy Halladay (Blue Jays) were among 2008 MLB leaders. Grounder-heavy pitchers don't strike out as many batters as their fly-ball counterparts, but they also tend to pitch deeper into games. How does this relate to hitters? That's easy. Scroll back up and read about Line Drive Percentage again. :-)

Jet Pipes and Exhaust System Modules

Almost all of the noise from a jet is caused by the violent turbulent mixing at the boundary between the jet and the atmosphere. Initially the edge of the jet is clearly defined and there is thus a high-speed shearing action between static and rapidly moving molecules of air and gas. This quickly breaks down into small eddies which cause high-frequency noise of great intensity. The eddies progressively mix the jet with the surrounding atmosphere, blurring the jet boundary. Continued mixing makes the eddies larger and larger, progressively reducing the eddy frequency and thus the pitch of the noise, and also reducing the jet velocity. Eventually, at a distance of perhaps 200 ft, the jet is no longer clearly definable, but is replaced by a much larger mass of eddies characterised by the fact that, in general, the air in line with the jet axis is moving away from the aircraft. By this time the writhing air mass is also distorted by the natural wind, so that it can constitute a hazard to light aircraft beside an airport runway in a crosswind.

Once the gas has left the nozzle, nothing can be done to quieten its noise, but noise can be significantly reduced by the design of the aero engine exhaust system modules. Remembering that awesome '8th-power of Vi' effect, everything possible must be done to minimize jet velocity. By far the best answer, for subsonic aircraft, is to replace a turbojet by a high-BPR turbofan. In any turbofan, provided there are no severe penalties in engine thrust and weight, it pays to mix the fan airflow with the core jet inside a full-length jet pipe. This can be done within the available length either with a chute-type mixer or by making the inner wall of the bypass duct (ie, the core jet pipe) progressively change from a circular section to deep corrugations.

Jet noise became an important environmental factor with the introduction of commercial transports powered by turbojets in the mid 1950s. These engines were noisy by any standard, and whereas the pioneer Comet 1 and Tu104 had plain jet pipes, the Comet 4, 707 and DC-8 were all provided from the outset with exhaust nozzles which promoted more rapid mixing of the jet with the atmosphere. The objective was to maximize the length of the nozzle periphery.

In the Avon engines of the Comet and Caravelle the exhaust nozzle (named for F. B. Greatrex of RollsRoyce) had an expanding diameter so that, whilst keeping cross-section area constant, it could incorporate six large inward-pointing chutes bringing fresh air to mix with the jet. In the DC-8 and Conway-engined 707 the jet was diverted outwards by internal vanes to escape through eight radial lobes. The effect with this corrugated-perimeter nozzle was the same as with the Greatrex but even more pronounced. With the Pratt & Whitney-engined 707 the exhaust nozzle was terminated in 20 separate circular tubes.

In the Avon 531 of some Caravelle VIs the nozzle was fitted with a hinged flap between two of the lobes to trim area to different flight conditions. Concordes have unique exhaust nozzles, the inner primary petals having retractable 'spades' to break up the periphery and the outer (reverser) eyelids, in effect squashing the jet on take-off to reduce noise.

All of these exhaust nozzles had little effect on the high-frequency noise from immediately downstream (in fact, by lengthening the periphery they mostly increased it), but this noise is rapidly attenuated by the atmosphere, and some that may reach the listener is beyond the audible range of frequencies.

Their main achievement was to reduce the more enduring lower-frequency noise. The fact that they were heavy and also degraded engine performance was obvious, and by modem standards the aircraft were still unacceptably noisy.

The breakthrough came when BPR (turbofan bypass ratio) was raised from below unity up to 5 or more. This has resulted in aero engines which obtain their thrust by accelerating a far greater mass of air more gently, and their noise is of a much less-obtrusive character. The fan jet is slower and cooler than that from a turbojet, and the annular nozzle already has a large periphery. The hot core jet is relatively small, and has had most of its energy removed by the multiple turbine stages, and again presents no significant problem.

Phyllis Yancy - On The Move

Phyllis Yancy's custom jewelry designs are untouchable; the quality, unquestionable. Just ask 2005 "American Idol" finalist, Anwar Robinson and actor, Malcolm Jamal Warner. Amazingly, the entire line is unique, handmade, and designed by Phyllis Yancy herself. Poised and vibrant in every sense of the words, Yancy founded Phyllis Yancy Designs more than ten years ago. Over this period, clients and customers have been mesmerized by beautiful Czech jewelry designs, Swarovski-cut crystals, Afrocentric beads, and other culture designs. Today, fueled largely by well-lit ambition and an exuberant passion to creatively enhance the lives of others, Yancy hopes to corner a relatively untapped and much-needed market -- mens' customized jewelry. And, if the male luminaries and celebrities she has as clients are any indication of early success, Phyllis Yancy is in great shape. Recently, EmediaCampaigns! sat down with Phyllis. We talked about her inspirations, devotions, her future projects, and of course, Phyllis Yancy Designs.

Fran Briggs: Good afternoon, Phyllis. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us.

Phyllis Yancy: Oh, thank you, Fran... What a great opportunity!

F.B. Lovin' your energy, Phyllis. Could you tell us more about your background?

P.Y. Yes. I've been married for seven years to a wonderful supportive man, Ernest Yancy. I have great family members on both sides. Beautiful parents, two incredible sisters, and the best in-laws one could ask for. Yep, surrounded by beautiful spirits. I graduated in 1998 with a master's in Integrated Marketing Communication from Roosevelt University, Chicago. Currently, I work in management at a major non-for-profit Association here in Chicago. I call this my 'meantime' job. Let's just say, I'm ready to 'live on purpose.' We all know, our world changes when we change.

F.B. Your jewelry is adorned by thousands. What is the inspiration, behind the inspiration of your handmade, custom-designs?

P.Y. The inspiration is the feeling I get when I custom-design a piece for someone and then receive such appreciation from that individual. When I know I have touched their spirit, I know my work is done! It is that very feeling that keeps me inspired.

F.B. "2005 American Idol Finalist," Anwar Robinson was seen on tour sporting several pieces of your designs. Could you briefly tell us how that came about?

P.Y. Briefly? (laughs) That might be hard for me! Okay, I will try... This is how my mens' line originated. I was home watching American Idol when contestant, Anwar Robinson came stage and began to sing Dionne Warwick's song, I Know I Will Never Love This Way Again. Now keep in mind, I didn't know anything one way or another about Anwar Robinson. As he was singing, I noticed he had on a beautiful, chocolate brown, velvet blazer and opened collar shirt. And yep -- nothing on his neck! Neck just bare. I looked and thought to myself, 'Man, Anwar, you need some jewelry.'

Okay, this is going to sound crazy but, all of a sudden, a small voice whispered in my ear: 'Well, why don't you make him some?' I jumped; (and) looked around because, the voice seemed so real to me. As if someone was there. I mean, no 'Come hither, thou...', just, 'Well, why don't you make him some?' I immediately went downstairs to my craft room and started creating jewelry for Anwar. Keep in mind, I had never designed men's jewelry before -- only women.

Well, to make a long story short, God showed me how to get the jewelry to him. Again, ordering my every step. It was because of that experience, I found that there is a market out there that the jewelry industry has missed -- men. Especially artists in the entertainment industry that don't necessarily want the enormous jewelry, i.e., 'Bling Bling!' but (rather) more cultural designs that connect with their spirit.

From this, God has blessed me and led me to design for several artists, including Malcolm Jamal Warner, Will Downing, Frank McComb, KEM, Che', Dave McMurray and Shelby Brown. I am now getting many artists from all backgrounds contacting me with great interest.

F.B. What an awesome story, Phyllis. It illustrates the importance of responding to our empowering, inner voice. Tell us, why do think designer beads are enjoying a resurgence in popularity these days?

P.Y. I think people are learning how to appreciate art in all forms. The beauty and energy these beads represent, the unique power to promote good health, and spiritual well-being has become an attraction. For example, people like to wear a carnelian stone for inspiration and prosperity. Tiger-eye stones represent clarity and peace. It is because of these positive energies and beliefs that God has brought my work to me. And, it's up to me to embrace the mysteries of this wonderful work.

F.B. Your product line and entire collection are both exemplary and unique. Was there ever a time when you doubted your ability to design such beautiful pieces?

P.Y. Sometimes I wonder if I will run out of ideas or if I am prepared for the "supply and demand" of my product. But mostly, I know God has given me a gift and I plan to obey the call and continue sharing this gift! When I feel I'm falling into a creative slump, somehow the Universe always brings an artist or customer my way, which gets me motivated all over again!

F.B. When did you first discover your passion and gift for creating beautiful, custom-designed jewelry?

P.Y. I always had a love for jewelry as a child. Funny story... I made my first pair of earrings for me and my sister with 'bobby pins.' I even made them dangle like chandeliers! My parents would not let us wear earrings at the time, so we had to make do! As far as designing real jewelry, I didn't realize that until 1995. This is yet another unbelievable story! While I was in undergraduate school, each student in one of my classes was charged with creating an artistic project. I told my instructor, 'Sorry, I don't have an artistic bone in my body.' He laughed and said, 'I think you will be able to come up with something; I believe in you!'

The very next day I decided to go to Michael's Arts and Craft Store. I walked down each aisle to see what would resonate with me. Well, I found myself in the aisle with the jewelry-making material and guess what? The rest is history. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I had any creative abilities! From there I did craft shows, home shows and sold to a couple of beauty salons. Lately, I'm finding my passion for designing one-of-a-kind pieces for men. We women can find jewelry everywhere we look, but for men ... the options are limited.

F.B. Most entrepreneurs have mentors as it pertains to the day-to-day operations of their businesses. Is this the same for you?

P.Y. Yes, I have spiritual mentors. Authors, Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, Les Brown, Iyanla Vanzant and Deepak Chopra just to name a few. I read a lot of inspirational and motivational books and listen to tapes daily. I really believe if I can learn to create balance in my life, be opened to what God has for me, He will bring everything and everybody to me in order to do this business. When we live on purpose and live an inspired life, I don't believe we have to force anything or manipulate.

What God has for us, is for us! So my goal is to live a spiritual surrendered life and not be attached to any results. This automatically helps me with the day-to-day operations.

F.B. It's not atypical for an individual or organization to consult with others as it pertains to adding clarity to their vision. Who is responsible for helping clarifying the vision for Phyllis Yancy Designs?

P.Y. First, my husband, Ernest. He has this sort of quiet strength about him (which) brings me back to reality and helps me see the big picture. I sometimes lose that in all of the excitement! He keeps me focused...My sisters and a couple of girlfriends are always there letting me bounce ideas off of them, while also sharing their thoughts on what they think might work. My nephew, being the artist that he is has also been instrumental in helping me clarifying my vision for the company. Again, it's a blessing to have such a support team!

F.B. When are you most happiest?

P.Y.When I see an artist on stage proudly wearing a Phyllis Yancy Design -- whether that artist is considered 'famous' or not.

F.B. What's next for Phyllis Yancy?

P.Y. I would like to start focusing on marketing to retail stores such as Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Nordstroms, etcetera. We will see!

F.B. Believing all the best for you and your endeavors. Before we leave, please tell us how consumers can learn more about, or purchase your designs.

P.Y. I am currently revamping my website (http://phyllisyancydesigns.com) and giving it a totally new look. For now, I encourage those who are interested to visit my "myspace" page at http://myspace.com/phyllisyancydesigns for photos, contact information, and the possibility of having a custom-designed piece made for them.

Fran Briggs: Phyllis Yancy, thank you so much for sharing. Indeed, it was both a pleasure and an honor talking with you.

Phyllis Yancy: Thanks Fran, this has been fun! I always enjoy speaking with you. Continue your great work and many blessings to you.

Trailer Trash - Get Clean With a Slide Out Trash Can For Your RV

Finding a place to put your trash that is convenient and out of the way but not unsightly can be a real challenge in an RV. Space is at a premium and no one wants to kick a bag of trash as they walk through their coach. You could just keep your trash bag outside and dispose of it before you go to bed. But sometimes you might forget and in an area with a lot of critters or bears, you might wake up to a big mess. If you have an interior storage compartment or cabinet space large enough, it's time to do the slide out trash can mod.

Installing a slide out trash can is actually quite simple. If you opt for a residential type, the available kits come with everything you need to get going. You can also use a slide out drawer kit if you want a little more durability, but they will likely cost more. And you have to find a way to secure the trash can to the drawer so it won't fall over when sliding the drawer out. This can be done by bolting the trash can through the drawer bottom, using large fender washers on the trash can side so the bolts won't pull through the bottom.

Mounting the sliders can be done in a couple of different ways. The first and easiest way is to use a residential kit. The bracketry supplied is nothing more than two slide rails and four "L" brackets. Each bracket is secured with wood screws to the bottom of the cabinet you are installing the trash can in. The rails then attach to the brackets with machine screws. The assembly that holds the trash can has rails with little roller wheels that slide in to the rails mounted in the cabinet. This is the easiest and fastest way to have a basic slide out trash can.

The other way to do the installation is if you have a cabinet whose dimensions won't allow readily available kits to directly install without modification. This is where the fun begins. You get to measure out the cabinet depth and buy some sliders to fit that dimension. You may even have to add some spacing strips along the sides of the cabinet so the slides can clear the cabinet's outer face trim. You might even have to throw caution to the wind and get creative with how you mount the slides to the cabinet. There are many types of brackets that will work and all are available at your local home improvement store.

If you really want to get fancy, you can add a door mount kit. This kit is used to mount the cabinet door you would normally open to slide the trash can out, to the ends of the slides so that when you pull on the door handle, the door and trash can slide out all as one unit. Installation is simple. Remove the door from the cabinet. Remove the hinges from the door. Mount the supplied brackets to the inside of the door and to the ends of the slides. Slip the door brackets on to the slide ends and secure. A nice addition to a very useful mod!

Tip: Weight can be a concern with a slide out trash can. If you fill your can with a lot of heavy stuff, you can exceed the weight limits of the slide rails. Make sure that when selecting a residential style kit, you ask about its weight limitations. With a custom install, this should not be a concern as the construction and attachment of the rails is typically more than strong enough to support the weight of a full trash can.

The Tempest - Review of a Rare 19th Century Engraving by C W Sharpe

A wonderful rendering of the first act (Scene 2) of Shakespeare's last play, The Tempest, when Prospero beckons Caliban, the son of the witch, Sycorax, and claims he is corrupt having tried to rape his daughter, Miranda. Prospero threatens and cajoles Caliban's obedience, but Caliban's presence makes Miranda uneasy.

This delicious 19th century engraving by C. W. Sharpe was found in a backwoods antique store hidden in-between pages of old newspapers and family heirlooms which often prove to be excellent hunting grounds for discovering rare fine art prints.

I haven't read The Tempest since high school and it was with delight that I reacquainted myself with the Bard's final work (written solely by him in 1610-11) about betrayal, romance, exotic, super-human characters and a happy ending (what else could you ask for?).

Here's a summary of The Tempest:

Alonso (the King of Naples), his brother Sebastian, his son Ferdinand, Antonio's counselor Gonzalo, and Antonio (brother of Prospero, the usurped Duke of Milan) are on a ship with sailors caught in a tempest at sea. The storm scares all of the nobleman to abandon ship, fearing it split in half. When the storm subsides, the exiled Duke Prospero and his daughter Miranda appear on the island they have inhabited for 12 years. Miranda tells him she saw the ship crack in the storm, but Prospero calms her, explaining it was a magical illusion he created. He explains he was once Duke of Milan, but his brother Antonio took over when he began deeply studying literature, eventually teaming with Alonso to banish Prospero and Miranda and abandon them at sea, where they luckily landed on the island and survived since Gonzalo had given Prospero money, clothes, and his sorcerer books in the boat. Now, he explains, his enemies have sailed by, so he created the tempest to shipwreck them. He causes her to sleep and calls his spirit Ariel to come. Ariel verifies that the nobles are safe on the island, while their ship is deep in a hidden harbor with the crew asleep; further, the remainder of the fleet has returned to Naples believing Alonso is dead. We learn that Prospero rescued Ariel from the "foul witch" Sycorax and will free Ariel himself when his plans for the nobles are complete. Sycorax had imprisoned Ariel in a tree for refusing to do her evil, then, after her death, Prospero freed him. She also had a deformed son, Caliban, whom Prospero commands as his slave (Note that Caliban anagrams from a slightly misspelled canibal). Hidden, Ariel sings a song and scares Alonso's son Ferdinand as he wanders around the island, eventually meeting Prospero and Miranda. Both Miranda and Ferdinand immediately fall in love, but Prospero (although approving) pretends to be gruff and critical toward Ferdinand.

In another part of the island, Alonso, Sebastian, Antonio, Gonzalo, and the lords Adrian and Francisco are wandering. Alonso fears Ferdinand is dead, but Gonzalo assures him he may be living, since they are living. Ariel causes all to sleep, except Sebastian and Antonio. Then, Antonio convinces Sebastian to kill Alonso, so Sebastian will become heir to Naples' throne. Prospero, though, has Ariel awaken Gonzalo to warn Alonso. Elsewhere, Caliban is gathering wood when the jester Trinculo, then the drunkard Stephano (both from the ship) come upon them. Caliban takes Stephano to be a god (the Man in the Moon), and vows to serve him.

At Prospero's cave, Miranda meets Ferdinand carrying logs for her father. Here they exchange their love for one another and vow to be married. Prospero, watching in secret, approves. Elsewhere, Caliban convinces Stephano to kill Prospero and seize Miranda so they can be king and queen. Ariel, though, overhears and will warn Prospero. Alonso and others are wandering when Ariel and other spirits bring in a table of food. Before they can eat, Ariel appears and takes the food away, then informs Alonso, Sebastian, and Antonio that it is their evilness toward Prospero that has caused their current sorrows (shipwreck, loss of Ferdinand, etc.).

At the cave, Prospero presents Miranda to Ferdinand, though instructing him not to "break her virgin-knot" until after they are properly married. He celebrates by presenting them with a show by the spirits Iris, Ceres, and Juno. However, Caliban, Stephano, and Trinculo show up to kill Prospero. He, however, creates a distraction with extravagant garments, then sends the fairies after them like hounds hunting foxes.

In the final act, Prospero brings the nobles to his cell and reveals himself to them. He forgives Alonso, Antonio, and Sebastian then reveals that Ferdinand is safe with Miranda. Alonso restores Prospero's dukedom and Prospero promises to return all home safely to Italy. As for Caliban, he promises to mend his ways while Stephano and Trinculo repent for plotting to kill Prospero.

This excerpt from the introduction of The Tempest at enotes summarizes Shakespeare's theatrical intention of the play:
No reading of The Tempest can do it justice: The play was composed by Shakespeare as a multi-sensory theater experience, with sound, and especially music, used to complement the sights of the play, and all of it interwoven by the author with lyrical textual passages that overflow with exotic images, trifling sounds, and a palpable lushness.

This richly detailed engraving is a joy to look at, and offers many clues about it's origin for the amateur detective (all art collectors are amateur detectives). The image area measures 6-9/16″ x 5″ on a sheet of 7-13/16″ x 5-15/16″ heavy paper. There's a half-inch tear above Prospero's head (in the tree) that could easily be mended.

A big part of the treasure contained in these kind of finds is the amount of information included with the image. In this case, not only do we know who engraved the image (C.W. Sharpe), but we also know who designed it (M. Retzsch), who painted it (Henry Inman), and for whom it was created (The Columbian Magazine). There is also another name that appears to the right of the title-W. L. Ormsby, for which we'll have to speculate.

C. W. Sharpe (1818 - 1899) was a British engraver who seemed to specialize in the rendering of aristocratic family scenes and Shakespearian plays. All of the works I found by him were done by steel plate engraving (versus the copper plate engraving used by his predecessors). Etching and engraving are printmaking techniques where the artist creates his/her design onto a metal plate. The plate is then inked and the reverse image is printed onto paper. The difference between the two techniques is for engravings, the artist uses a stylus to draw precisely onto the plate, and for etchings the artist sketches onto the plate and applies an acid bath to further deepen the original lines.

Research about this artist came up with conflicting information regarding his nationality (one noted art site listed him as an American), and he can also be confused with a Scottish artist of a similar name and time frame. I had to dig deep to find this stingy information from a Google Book Search (a wonderful resource for searching both modern and antiquarian books) located in The Dictionary of National Biography published by the Oxford University Press (Great Britain) in 1909;

...Eliza Sharpe was employed in making watercolour copies of pictures in the South Kensington Museum, her last work being a set of copies of Raphael's cartoons. She died unmarried on 11 June 1874 at the residence of her nephew, Mr. C. W. Sharpe the engraver, at Burnham, Maidenhead...

Maidenhead is located in Berkshire, England, which is where I'm going to settle for Mr. Sharpe's place of birth (or England in general).

The only work related to The Tempest by C.W. Sharpe I could find was a dreamy depiction of Ariel, the airy spirit of the island. I found it odd that no reference to the above engraving existed anywhere, until I realized it was a commissioned work based on a previous design. Sharpe engraved the scene according to an existing concept, so I have to assume it doesn't show up in what paltry catalog raisonne I can find on him simply because it wasn't entirely his own creation. As for the year of the engraving, things get a bit sticky.

The Columbian Magazine was founded by Mathew Carey (and others) in 1786 and lasted until 1792. That magazine and the American Museum were important early American publications. The Columbian Magazine was back into publication in the 1800's with John Inman and Robert A. West as it's editors (Israel Post, New York) . During my online research of the available Columbia Magazine editions I found mention of The Tempest but not a republication of the play, and no illustrations. Then, reviewing C. W. Sharpe's most productive years, and the release of Charles Knight's two-volume Imperial Edition of The Works of Shakespere (London: Virtue and Company, 1873-76) in which Sharpe engraved scenes from several plays, I tentatively set a date of 1875 for this work (until I find other evidence).

Friedrich August Moritz Retzsch (1779 - 1857), also known as M. Retzsch, was a German painter, draughtsman and etcher. His style of outline engraving was very popular in England and in 1828 he published his first work on Shakespeare, Umrisse zu Hamlet, a set of sixteen outline scenes. That was followed by outlines for seven more plays, including The Tempest, which was published in 1841. I believe this etching was based on an outline etching by Retzsch that would have existed for more than 30 years before it was utilized by C. W. Sharpe for The Columbian Magazine.

Henry Inman (1801 - 1846) was an American painter of portraits, including more than 30 Native American portraits of which nearly a dozen are in the collection of the White House. His son, Colonel Henry Inman (1837 - 1899), was a decorated Army officer in the old wild west, an associate of Colonel W. F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) and author of The Great Salt Lake Trail. This engraving lists Henry Inman as "Painted by" but I found no reference or museum record to validate that fact. This is the time when you wished you had at least one comprehensive book on every major artist that ever lived in your library (yeah, right), or at least access to them.

Waterman Lilly Ormsby (1809 - 1883), or W. L. Ormsby as it shows up to the right of the engraving title, is an interesting character. He invented several ruling-machines, transfer-presses, and other implements that are used in bank-note engraving, a machine for engraving on steel called the "grammagraph," and one for splitting wood. He was a founder of the Continental bank-note company, which during the civil war and afterward executed a large amount of work for the United States government; and the peculiar design for a five-dollar bank-note was largely the result of Mr. Ormsby's idea for the prevention of counterfeiting. It is claimed that he assisted Samuel F. B. Morse and Henry A. Munson in the invention of the Morse alphabet, and, aided by Mr. Munson, he transmitted messages at the first public exhibition of the telegraph in New York city.

Now, a long-time collector of fine prints would instinctively know what Mr. Ormsby's moniker is doing there located in a seemingly random spot on this engraving, but since my experience in this medium is sorely limited, I went looking around for a clue, and I found one. Listed on page 35 of the Hudson-Fulton Exhibition List of Prints, Books, Manuscripts, Etc., published in 1909, is an entry for an engraving by J. White for The Columbian Magazine that was originally printed by, you guessed it, W. L. Ormsby. So, from this information I can surmise that his signature is a printer's mark, and that would explain the almost currency-like quality of the image when viewed close up.

I admire the exceptional mastery that was utilized in telling this story of Caliban, Miranda and Prospero. Even though your interests in literature may lie elsewhere, the sheer talent and skill required to create such euphoric artistry is enough to cause one to pause and wonder if there truly is such a thing as divine revelation.

Ebay Auction Search Secrets - Get an Unfair Advantage Over Your Competition With These Secrets

It is not easy making a living on eBay. It requires you to sell almost all of the items you list on eBay. The easiest way to do this is get more traffic to visit your auctions. The more quality traffic to your auction, the more bids you will get for the items you list, thus the higher the average selling price for the items. In order to make more money you must focus on getting more people to view and bid on your auction listings.

How can I do this? There are several ways you can do this. You have two main ways people find items on eBay. The first is eBay's built in search, and the second is the use of external Ads you place outside of the eBay marketplace telling people about your auctions.

When using eBay's built in search it requires you to think about exactly what other people are going to be typing in while trying to find your products. I highly suggested that you do not use acronyms in your auction titles. Some examples of what not to use: B&M, BIN, CS, FB, FS, FSoT, FT, FVF, HTF, ISO, MAP, MIB, MIM, NIB, NOS, NR, NWOT, NWT, OOP, and OP. These have no search value because no one searches for theses obscure terms. You have a limited space in the title in which to put your most common key words for the product your are trying to sell. You have plenty of space in the actual listing to type out everything about the product without using auction lingo. Many people new to auctions have no idea what these acronyms mean and it can be confusing to them.

When you use outside of the eBay marketplace marketing you place a link to your eBay auctions in your favorite forum, blog, myspace, facebook, your website, or inside emails. This has been an issue for most sellers until now, because your links to your auctions die shortly after the auction is over. But there is a new hope. It is a new service called MyBayAds.com which allows you to place these ads almost anywhere, and the ads automatically update themselves to your most current auctions. Best of all this service is free.

By optimizing both the eBay search and off site linking you will gain a huge advantage over your competitors. From the shear amount of extra traffic you will be receiving. The more off site ads you place the more the people will have a chance to view your auctions. The more views you get the more bids your auctions will have. The more bids you get the more your auctions will go for. It's an easy way to dominate your nitche.

Six Sigma For Network Marketing

What do you do if you are working your business and for some unknown reason not achieving the results you think you should be, or know you can? The problem for many is we don't have any real problem solving skills to help us establish a practical system for operating our business. Or if we have a system in place, we don't know how to identify where in our system something may be off track and need adjusting.

Corporate businesses do a pretty decent job in my opinion of taking their best and brightest and sending them out to formulate problem solving methodologies, that can be taught pretty easily, (duplication) and then implemented to help solve a wide array of problems from cutting unnecessary costs to improving and streamlining processes, to increase profitability.

Unfortunately, they do a pretty bad job (generally speaking) of sticking with one tool or program long enough to reap the benefits. Companies like people, have short attention spans and are eager to move on to the newest and shiniest fad on the market.

I have been trained in Six Sigma for 8 years now and find that the model is very helpful and can be used in almost any application you can think of. The reason for this is because every conceivable action in your life or work is in the basic sense a process. Anything you do, has process steps involved to achieve the desired outcome. For example, making a pot of coffee- you put a filter in the holder, add a specific amount of coffee, fill the water reservoir, and mash the on button. That is a process.

Six Sigma was designed to look at a process and improve it. There are different Six Sigma models of course. I would like to share with you the D.M.A.I.C. model to help you in your Network Marketing Business. The letters in this model represent the different steps in this problem solving tool.

Let's say for example, you have been working your business for 1 month now and have only recruited 1 person. You expected to have 3 people in your down line by now.

Phase 1. D=Define. Define your problem statement. In this example, it would look something like this:

In 1 month, I have only recruited 1 person.

Now we must establish a future goal for improvement. Make it realistic. and quantify it.

In March, I will recruit 2 people into my organization.

Phase 2. M=Measure.

Now we must measure as much as possible our previous results up till now. We want as much information as we can get. It would be very helpful if we kept some type of records as to how many people we offered our opportunity to in 1 month that only resulted in 1 new recruit. If not, I recommend you start this practice from now on. This will help you establish a ratio or percent that you can use as a benchmark for future improvement goals. Let's say for example you spoke to 10 people in 1 month and only got one. That means you only have a 10% success rate for this time period.

Phase 3. A=Analyze. This is the hardest part. Especially if you don't have some accurate data or stats to go back and look at. Going forward in your business, it would be helpful if you kept some type of log for you to track your daily business activity and the results of those activities.

For example, if you know that you have been devoting approximately 65% of your time focused on recruiting friends and family, 25% of your time placing ads online, and 10% of your time marketing on FB or another Social Network vehicle, now you can quickly identify where your efforts have been directed.

Although it's a little difficult in this simple example to make all the points that are worth mentioning on this subject, the next step would be to identify what outlet you found your 1 prospect through. If it was on FB, you might want to increase more of your time and efforts toward FB marketing. To find out where to cut some of your time and efforts, you want to probably cut from the vehicle which is sparking the least amount of activity. If you were able to speak to 4 potential prospects through Craig's List advertising, but were unable to recruit them, you probably want to either increase your efforts in this area or keep it the same for your first try at this. If you couldn't convince any friends and family to take a look at your opportunity, this is the obvious place to cut your efforts.

Phase 4. I=Improve The improve phase is the organization of the changes you intend to make to improve your outcome. Example would be- Friends and family recruiting- 25%, online advertising- 40%, and Social Networking Marketing- 35%. Based on your business time/effort analyses, this might not be a bad start to making your adjustments. Try this new model of activity for a specified period of time. (1-2 weeks should be sufficient) If things start to improve slightly, you may want to go back and adjust this model again to support your new results. If it gives you your desired outcome. Then you are on to the control phase.

Phase 5 C= Control When you find the appropriate breakdown of your maximum effort efficiency, it is important that you continue to work your business in this model. It is just important to maintain good records and frequently make sure that you aren't subtly regressing in your desired results. If you decide to try to improve your results, start the process over and monitor and control.

Although this is a very shallow simplistic look at Six Sigma, it is a nice structure to help you keep your business activities and the results you are getting documented and easy to see. It will also help you to develop some good disciplines to help you build your business and reach your goals quicker.

Music and Politics

Jerome Camal, French of birth, is assistant to the Washington University of Saint Louis in jazz studies, logic of music and logic of ethnic music. But it is also a saxophonist that is not satisfied with to live of academic searches and he doesn't want that teacher calls him, but he prefers to play in the places, to plunge himself in jam sessions and to teach the practice of the tool.

A stimulating character, that entertains in his home page a section devoted in full to the analysis of the political jazz of the sixties.

The observations of Camal are stimulating, ideologically you direct not, also succeeding at the same time to recover important figures of that season, giving them a correct position (is worth on all the examples of Frank Kofsky and Amiri Baraka, today a little considered, in kind the first one).

Camal quotes them, he criticizes them. I mark that their ideas "strong" on the jazz they maintain intact their charm, to distance of years.

The studies on the jazz, more and more serious and philologically correct, you are receiving spaces ever had before. There are authors that bring forth innovative thesis and different readings from those usual, for instance the wise man Paul's Gilroy Black Atlantic, teacher of Black studies to the university of Yale, that offers a reading that has the breath of the coolness historical-political-geographical.

From the correspondence by e-mail this interview was born, that besides opinions not discounted on Coltrane and Sonny Rollins, it furnishes a list at the end - also it everything anything else other than banal - of music jazz "politics."

Frank Bergoglio: In your pages on the jazz and the movement for the civil rights, or when you speak of the jazz of the so-called one "black nationalism", it is frequent to find the name and the work of Frank Kofsky. Which opinion have you matured of his job after having studied him to fund? Do you think that it introduced too ideology in relationship to the treated matters or that, contrarily, the period both well described in the writings of Kofsky and Amiri Baraka?
Jerome Camal: Kofsky is an interesting character. Indeed ideology envelops its writings in so mighty way to make more its reasonings object objections. An example of this attitude is its interview to Coltrane in which him test, without succeeding us to make to guarantee from Coltrane its political ideas.

Nevertheless, some points of its discourse are faced in interesting way and they gather meaningful aspects: the most effective example is the description of the economic conditions in which you have to work the black musicians. His book Black Nationalism in Music, is probably at the end more profit if read as a primary source, which the ideology that informs a part of the musicians of the Avant Garde reflects.

F.B: Amiri Baraka is more sociologist in the analyses, is Kofsky a researcher anymore "political" of the jazz… I think that its intention was to put its studies the method of Marxist analysis into practice, doesn't it seem you?
J.C.: I Arrange, but I think that we should think to both as about two researchers moved by strong political motivations. And' past a beautiful po' of time from my reading of "Blues People", but, as memory, Baraka seems me it emphasized the African-American culture as the product and the reaction towards the slavery and in equal time as connection to Africa. The matters of Baraka are based on a vision "of class", probably influenced from the Marxism and to lines bordering with the existentialism. For him the forms of jazz and blues that have had more commercial success they have been corrupt from the white mainstream. Reading him does him the idea that he thinks that assimilation is a form of corruption; what the bebop is a reaffirmation of the inheritance of the black roots in music and a taking of distance from the white hegemony that was consolidated during the Swing Era. Many groups and artists of the movement coagulated him around the African-American arts, the reasonings of Baraka they resounded. Of other song the writer of color Ralph Ellison was in strong disagreement with the theses of Baraka and looked at the blues as to a form of celebration of the results reached by the African-American art. In the demonstrations as the blues, where Baraka has the tendency to see the people of color as victims, Ellison underlines the strong sense of representation and affiliation instead of it.

F.B.: Which opinion you are you formed on the course to assign to the job of Coltrane? Before you quoted one famous interview of his, and in that as in others, the timidity of the saxophonist emerges, always of few words, that it brings to reserved answers, humble and at the end ambiguous in comparison to the course of the legacy coltraniano.

J.C.: I Think that the case of Coltrane to treat we need to consider his/her music from two separated visual angles. Primo: which type of political message (if it is one of them) it foresaw Coltrane for his music? According to: which done mean political you has been tied up to his music to back, from the most different listeners? In other words, I believe there is a difference among as Coltrane it conceived and he saw his music and the way in which it has been recepita and interpreted. Premised this, I see a Coltrane that "it uses" his music to communicate a message of integration and universality. I like to show up a parallel among his/her interest for the modal music and particularly for that Indian and the attention of Martin Luther King for the fliosofia of the not-violence brought ahead by Ghandi. In the first days of the struggle for the civil rights of the black population often M.L. King painted a parallel among the struggle for the liberty in the United States and the movement for the independence in Africa. It seems me to be able to affirm that both the men saw their job in universal terms. Nevertheless it doesn't seem me that the music of John Coltrane has been welcomed in this way and some of the most radical parties in the Movement of the civil rights they were rapid in to summon to them the saxophonist as musical spokesman. Same Coltrane to the idea doesn't appear enthusiastic, as it clearly enough shows his interview to Kofsky, where he prefers to deepen his musical explanations with a more general meaning regarding the human condition. As it underlines Craig Werner, Coltrane and Malcom X they saw both their transformed message and used for justifying the pursuit of more radical objectives inside the Movement, independently from the fact that they wanted you was used and interpreted their job in such way or no.

F.B.: you think there is a connection among the New it damages American and the jazz? And of what type?

J.C.: And' an ample question too much for a rapid answer. I have never reasoned on the connection among New Left and music, even if it seems an interesting matter to develop.

F.B.: you want to make a brief list of political passages that in the history of the jazz you consider fundamental and to give apiece us a brief comment?

J.C.: You my first choice is rather obvious: We insist! Freedom now Suite (Candid 1961). This recording exemplifies for many different aspects as the music you can politically be used. In first place it is an example of artists of color that you use their art to regain the authority and the control on his own history and on his narration storiografica. The Suite of Roach follows the story of the population of color of African descent is in the United States that in Africa, departing from the experience of the slavery, continuing with the declaration of emancipation, to end with the struggle for right peers in America as in Africa. Facing the matter from this point of view is stimulating to observe, as they makes Scott Saul and Ingrid Monson, that the order of the sections of the Suite, separate among them, you has been changed in comparison to the ideas of departure of Roach and Oscar Brown Jr. Originally the suite foresaw the departure with the African section before moving to the experience of the slavery and to pass to the emancipation. to Put the slavery to the beginning serves to strongly take root the African-American history to the experience of the slavery. To depart with Africa would have emphasized the African inheritance of the African-American culture instead. In beaten second the Freedom now Suite represents well also what Gilroy it defines "black atlantic". All Africa melts the American jazz with the Cuban music and the African percussions: it deals with an excellent example of the continuous cultural exchange that is had among African people, people of the Caribbean, wide also in Europe and, naturally, to the United States. From last it needs to remember that the Suite is after all a great moment of music, in which you/they can be seen used advanced techniques of composition. Max Roach uses a 5/4, perhaps an answer to the success of Take Five, but more disposition and brave of that of Brubeck. The tone of the breaths, perfectly in the "fourth" in Driva men is interesting and anticipates the times. The photo of cover that shows some students during a sit-in to a counter of a cafeteria it is provocative and the notes of cover of Nat Hentoff they are also candid and fresh to the actual reading. The second example is surely less known. In fact if you has been written a lot on the Freedom Suite of Sonny Rollins, I would aim the attention at a 1956 recording, The house The live in, performed for the Prestige. It deals with a passage hard enough conventional bop, but it is also a big beautiful example of signifying in music. At the end of the piece Rollins inserts as tail the theme of Lift every voice and sing. That spiritual has become subsequently a kind of non official hymn for the population of color. In the notes of cover of the cd-playpen of the Prestige, container everything how much recorded, he explains that the saxophonist appreciated the social meaning of the text written by Robinson and wanted to strengthen his/her words ending the song with Lift every voice and sing. He perhaps wanted also to answer to the recent recording of that song performed by Frank Sinatra. In every case it is interesting to notice that this is the only song of that session that has not immediately been realized by the Prestige, immediately after the recording. I have not made a lot of searches on this disk, but I think both too often ignored, today. If then we want a complete list of passages we should include at least the Haitian fight song and Fable of Faubus of Mingus and Freedom rider of Art Blakey, John's Coltrane Alabama, the whole apparition of Archie Shepp to the festival jazz of Newport and Appointment in Ghana of Jackie Mclean. There is then Strange Fruit of Billie Holiday, but the list would be very long…

Divorce and child depression may very well go hand in hand as parental separation and divorce can be totally devastating for children and teenagers.

Every persons reaction and coping mechanisms are different. While many children will handle this new situation with relatively few problems or permanent negative effects while for others, the act of divorce can be very traumatic and long-lived.

The trauma created by divorce is determined by the child's experience of the event, not simply the event itself. Every child in the family could have a dramatically different emotional reaction to the changes related to divorce. Some children believe that they caused the breakdown of the marriage.

Does Divorce and Depression Go Hand in Hand?

The stereotype that a man relishes trading his wife for a fast car or a younger woman has proven to be erroneous. In actual fact a new study has found that men appear to take separation much harder than women and divorce and depression seem to have a relationship in both men and women.

Both men and women have a higher risk of being depressed when they get divorced as compared to people who remain with their spouses, but men who are divorced or separated are six times more likely to report depression compared with men who remained married, while women are 3.5 times more likely to have bouts of depression than their counterparts who are still in relationships.

Michelle Rotermann, the author of the study, said she was surprised and also not surprised by the results. "On the one hand we know depression in general tends to be more common among women, but there is also a lot of evidence that shows that men have fewer social supports, and social supports do play an important part in the healing process".

There are other factors that accompany the end of a relationship that may also contribute to the experience of depression, such as life style changes, economic difficulties or changes in the number of children living in the home. The study did find however that such changes were not enough to account for depression levels, which remained higher even after the other possible factors were taken into consideration. The dissolution of the relationship remained the highest factor causing depression.

Depression enters quietly, grabs a firm hold, and changes the way we live our lives. A dark cloud of grief and obscurity settles in robbing us of all our joys, and life seems to have lost its meaning. Depression comes in the form of painful crisis when it comes to divorce and loss of your partner. Many feelings like grief, rejection, anger, hatred, pain, feeling of being left behind, loneliness and above all a broken heart can destabilize you completely. There is nothing that can quickly take your pain away. One has to work through to come out of this pain and bring about the real healing.

Getting a divorce causes grief very much like the grief experienced when a loved one dies. The emotions are similar and follow a like pattern including the associated depression. The best news is that depression can be cured. Discuss your divorce and depression with your doctor and together you can find the best treatment options.
